That kind of already is a requirement if you don't want your business to be too beholden to the whims of one of the major platforms.
@baldur This is pretty good advice. I've been around on the internet since about the same time, and it's true. Even the giant companies which look unassailable eventually fade or fold. At some point Facebook will just be obsolete. It's about time musicians also moved into the fediverse.

@baldur the problem with this approach is that it requires every person to construct, maintain, secure and fund a website indefinitely
