@bjsmith A snob, or just a n00b. After you've been kicking around a while and see what kind of nudniks mock people over spelling, missing words, etc. you realize how bad it makes you look.

I'm an occasional pedant, though I do try to offer my suggestions in a direct, non-public way.

Word usage isn't easy. Making <strike>misteaks</strike> mistakes is way too easy, especially in a quickly typed post on social media. Self-editing is a challenge and, as you point out, not so important as the message.

Punctuation in SMS text messages is considered overkill, I've heard.
