@qonnyr I installed matrix on my server once and tried to join #matrix:matrix.org and everything broke
it basically seems to give up joining but everyone else in the room thinks I should be in the room and begins sending federation data at high speeds

@obw @qonnyr yeah, #matrix:matrix.org is a homeserver killer. It is one of the rooms that puts the most strain on selfhosted servers. Same thing happens with other big rooms with a lot of federated users.

@brainblasted @qonnyr it would be fine if I could actually get the system to remove me from the room but that doesn't seem to be possible
