I don't think people understand how many of us at Microsoft love GitHub to the bottom of our hearts.
If anybody decided to mess with that community, there would be a riot to say the least
@oliverturner and it isn't a microsoft thing, I feel the same way about google, facebook and amazon. It is the structure of centralization, not the people, that bothers me. I would love to be proven wrong though, and I don't mean any of this as a personal criticism of people who work at microsoft.
@oliverturner I don't doubt that sentiment, so I hope they know that if Microsoft does change things the riot will be on both sides of the firewall. :)
@oliverturner I just want to make my position clear, and is what I think a lot of people's position is even if they don't realize it. All of the microsoft people I have met on mastodon honestly seem like great people who are passionate about open source. I think if I had the skills I would love to work at a place like microsoft. The scary thing to me though, is that it doesn't matter if most of you love open source and are good people, microsoft is so big it behaves according to its own forces.
