I love this project: a riverbed in Amsterdam was drained and the ~700,000 found objects dating from the 1300s to present were photographed and presented online:

@sorin Web Components seem like a good idea that hasn't received enough love.
I am really curious if they don't load any tracking code at all in the browser if you have the Premium EU Subscription.
I think I have uncovered the rationale for "apps" in 2018 and it is to get around your ad blocker
First NextCloud impression: the encryption flow needs to be improved. I've turned it on it but did not notice that there was no encryption module enabled (why was I allowed to enable it if that was the case?). At this point you cannot upload anything, but clients report this differently:
- on Android it reports that the server is in maintenance mode
- on Linux it gives some generic synchronization error
- only the web client reports the actual problem
🦊🔥🦊 Firefox Add-ons Development Video Series 🦊🔥🦊
Hey #WebDevelopers I am starting a little video series on developing #WebExtensions for #Firefox, I hope it will be a weekly series. I am anxious for feedback.
I'll be trying out Nextcloud for the next month, really curious how usable it is, especially regarding synchronization with mobile devices and photo management.

Reply from support when I ask to delete my account. Being on three more lists, just what I wanted.

Have to say that TypeScript is starting to grow on me. I've initially dismissed it, mostly due to seeing it used to construct unnecessary abstractions and leading to over-engineered codebases. But used in the right amounts it brings some piece of mind when refactoring, which is a feeling I've never had when working with JavaScript.
Didn't take a look at the generated code yet though.
Last night I had yet another conversation with web devs about why it's not a good thing for "everyone to just use Chrome". This morning I wake up & see yet another Chrome-only site. I really think we have a problem. Pls let's try to fix this together, for the sake of the web ❤️
URL parsing and handling is finally threadsafe in gecko! I've wanted this for this for as long as I've been on the project. https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mozilla.dev.platform/zQiBvXzGtEs/M9RlL9fIAwAJ

I just realised that we have decent ServiceWorker support in almost all browsers?

You may either like it or hate it but...
* Some Electron use cases just die out
* We can build any mobile OS and have apps
"all I'll say on #smooshgate: if the Library of Congress announced it was going to install an improved ventilation system that had the side-effect of disintegrating some percentage of old books, the people saying 'cool, do it' wouldn't be considered pragmatists, but monsters" – @Rich_Harris@twitter.com https://twitter.com/Rich_Harris/status/971753488739954688
Great talk from Jake Archibald about how the browser event loop works. This stuff can be really hard to grok, but his visualizations are great. https://youtu.be/cCOL7MC4Pl0

Don't care what the band thinks these days, 🐄 Atom Heart Mother is an extremely enjoyable album.
