I'll be trying out Nextcloud for the next month, really curious how usable it is, especially regarding synchronization with mobile devices and photo management.
If Delta sync or lan sync is important to you, then I'd say move to syncthing. I use it across 4 devices however, it's been swell.
@sorin its works, also take a look at seafile too as alternative...
@sorin I’m interested in its WebRTC video and text chat tools. If you test those at all, I’d really like to see your review of them!
@sorin Moving from Dropbox a couple years back, I've found the user experience just as good, if not better. Photo syncing via Android app works perfectly. Hope you have as good an experience!
@sorin Install davdroid from @fdroidorg and enjoy contacts + calendars on your phone! The feature set of nextcloud is really great, also be sure to enable auto upload in the nextcloud app for your photos. I used syncthing before which is an excellent software if all you need is file synchronisation.
@sorin I've been using it a lot, mostly for file sync and its pretty useful shared calendar setup on android (with davdroid). Its pretty good, and has had perfect stability for me. Its a great program!
@sorin I’m interested too. Curious to hear your thoughts.
@sorin it's quite good. There are rough places in web ui but syncing itself is really good.
@sorin Oh interesting! Please let us know how it goes! :)
@sorin Been using Owncloud and then Nextcloud for a couple of years now. Seems very usable, and mobile sync works great. I don't use it for photo management, though.
@sorin works like a charm. Never had issues, davdroid syncs everything you can ask for
@sorin It is (I use a bit the mobile sync feature) !
