In the latest episode of the #linuxunplugged podcast, the host raves about #peertube. He's thinking about setting one up for his organization and is looking for help migrating from #youtube and managing the instance. Any PeerTube admins willing to help, please hit him up.

The best twitter client on #android, Talon, just went open source. Any fedi developers might want to take a look at it. It would be a good base for a fediverse client.

Just found out about a new project called #gitpub. It's an extension of #activitypub for federated git. Maybe we'll see that federated git hosting everybody keeps asking for.

I put version control hosting + activitypub (read: federated github-alternative) on tomorrow's socialcg agenda w3.org/wiki/SocialCG/2018-06-0

@pixelfed Is anyone working on a Progressive Web App? Might pixelfed.social turn into one?

All the harassment Gargron is getting from ppl worried about #trending tags causing harassment 😨

So people think #mastodon needs currency governance. Why not fork? Gargron has a vision for mastodon. If his vision doesn't align with yours, you shouldn't be bullying him about it.

Find like minded ppl, nominate a community manager, find some devs, and fork it. Then you control the project in the way you want to, Gargron can guide his project his way, and the fediverse goes on. We can continue to connect with each other and everybody is doing so on their own terms

has support for desktop . The browser will show the app install banner for a and the user can install it to the deskotp. Just like on mobile, it'll open without browser chrome (if the dev configured it that way)

Hopefully, this is the start of a larger surge in PWAs and movement away from .

@sivy What happens if I mention a user?

Any interested in the might want to check out , a federated blogging engine and alternative to

github.com/Plume-org/Plume

It's written in , uses terra for the frontend, and currently doesn't use any Javascript.

Check out the demo instance here: baptiste.gelez.xyz/

Cool. There's a new #activitypub platform for blogging called #plume, meant to be an alternative to #medium. This could be a pretty big deal, because it means orgs can go all in on the #fediverse. They can have a #mastodon/#pleroma acct for quick communication and host their blog on plume instead of medium and all of it will federate, so users can choose how to follow and communicate with them.

Mastodon could get their blog off medium and @deadsuperhero can get #wedistribute onto the fediverse.

Just found out about the #nodeinfo protocol:
https://github.com/jhass/nodeinfo

I've seen this endpoint on #hubzilla hubs, but I thought it was specific to that project. Apparently it's semi-standardized and used by #diaspora and #friendica. There's an open issue on #peertube to support it. If #pleroma and #mastodon add support, mapping the #fediverse will become a whole lot easier.
